VITERBO UNIVERSITY’S PLATINUM EDITION SHOW CHOIR AND GUESTS TO PRESENT ONE-HIT WONDERS OCT. 29

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University’s renowned Platinum Edition show choir and special guests will present an evening of great singing and dancing with their variety performance One-Hit Wonders at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

“I was surprised to learn that many of my all-time favorite songs are indeed One- Hit Wonders,” said Nancy Allen, Viterbo music a department faculty member and director of Platinum Edition. “This year the audience will be asked to join our emcee Matt Campbell for a few classic sing-a-longs.”

One-Hit Wonders features a variety of musical styles and songs from the 1960s through today’s hits, such as Mickey, The Final Countdown, and What I Like About You.

“And if you like old school rap we definitely have a song for you,” Allen said. “There is something for everyone in this show.”

Joining Platinum Edition for the performance will be Tonal II, a men’s a cappella group, and the Coulee Kids Choir. The Platinum Edition band includes Greg Balfany, Julie Duff, Steve Duff, Jeff Krauklis, Paul Leithold, Kurt Schuldes, Josh Shively, George Von Arx, and Nancy Allen at the piano.

One-Hit Wonders is the 19th fall show for Platinum Edition. The group is nationally known in show choir circles and has performed across the U.S., including in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Branson, Mo., and Orlando. They have been selected to perform for the American Choral Directors Association National Conference in March. Over 300 groups auditioned for this opportunity and 28 were selected.

“We are very honored and excited to represent Viterbo University and Wisconsin at this convention,” Allen said.

Tickets are $20 for main floor, $17 for lower balcony, and $14 for upper balcony seating. To purchase tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
