VITERBO UNIVERSITY WINTER COMMENCEMENT DEC. 14

LA CROSSE, Wis. – One hundred forty-two students, 101 undergraduate, 34 master’s degree, and 7 doctorate degree students, will be candidates for graduation at Viterbo University’s Winter Commencement Ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Tonya Wagner, vice president for academic affairs and institutional effectiveness, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Emily Glodowski, a marketing major from Stevens Point, will give the undergraduate student address and Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling student Ryan O’Hern will deliver the graduate student address. Nursing student Cadet Kayla Solberg will take the Commissioning Officer Oath of Office from Lt. Col. Brian Knutson, professor of military science.

Viterbo President Rick Trietley will confer the degrees and Rick Walters, executive artistic director of the Conservatory for the Performing Arts, will present the candidates. The diplomas will be awarded by President Trietley and Board of Trustees Chair John McHugh. Board of Trustees member Dr. Paul Molling will provide congratulatory remarks.

Kathy Duerwachter, director of alumni engagement, will lead the Prayer of St. Francis, and university chaplain Fr. Conrad Targonski, OFM, will give the benediction.

Receiving the title of faculty emeritus will be professors Keith Knutson, history, and Tom Knothe, business.

A Baccalaureate Mass will be held that morning at 9 a.m. in San Damiano Chapel. Fr. Targonski will preside at the liturgy. The Nursing Pinning Ceremony will be in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre 30 minutes after the commencement ceremony concludes.
