Statement from Viterbo University President Glena Temple regarding the Diocese of La Crosse’s clergy abuse report released on Saturday, Jan. 18: 

The Diocese of La Crosse has released a list of priests against whom one or more allegations of sexual abuse of a minor have been substantiated. On this list is the late J. Thomas Finucan, who was president of Viterbo University (1970–1980) and later a member of the board of trustees. Join us in praying for all survivors of sexual abuse. Their healing and well-being are of the utmost importance.

On behalf of the Viterbo University community, we condemn clergy abuse of any kind, and we pray for all survivors and their families, including those who were harmed in the past by clergy.
