VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT SHOUT! THE MOD MUSICAL AT THE WEBER CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS APRIL 15, 17, 23

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Journey back to the music, dancing, and fashion of the 1960s as Viterbo University presents Shout! The Mod Musical at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 15; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17; and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23.

“The show is full of fun music the audience will know and love,” said Viterbo faculty member Shane Rhoades, the director and choreographer of the production. “It will be a very enjoyable production.”

Set in London in the early 1960s through 1970, Shout! The Mod Musical follows the lives of five women in their 20s through 40s who are dealing with relationship issues. The women send letters to Gwendolyn Holmes, the advice columnist of Shout! Magazine, who gives them advice on how to deal with their problems.

The musical features 22 songs, including Downtown, Son of a Preacher Man, These Boots are Made for Walkin’, and many more familiar hits.

“The cast is fantastic,” Rhoades said. “The students need to be great singers, actors, and dancers for this production and they’ve been working ridiculously hard. It’s a great ensemble piece.”

This performance is part of Viterbo’s NexStar Season. The show is sharing a set with the university’s production of Altar Boyz. Shout! The Mod Musical was created by Phillip George and David Lowenstein, with Mod Musings and Groovy Gab by Peter Charles Morris and Phillip George. KQEG TV is the media sponsor for the performance.

Shout! The Mod Musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI, 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019.

Tickets are $23 and $20 for reserved seating. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
