VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO HOST ENGINEERING EXPLORATION DAY FEB. 16

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Prospective students and their families are invited to learn about the field of engineering and Viterbo University’s engineering major at Engineering Exploration Day the afternoon of Saturday, Feb. 16.

Participants will hear from a panel of engineers from Brennan, Fastenal, Inland, and Ingersoll Rand and can join their peers and local engineers for a fun and hands-on engineering project in Viterbo’s engineering lab.

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about an in-demand field from experts employed at local businesses,” said Sara Cook, dean of the Viterbo University College of Education, Engineering, and Letters and Sciences. “Participants will hear about the many careers available with an engineering degree, industry trends, descriptions of projects and needed skills, academic options, and practical advice for high school students considering the field.

The schedule for the day:

  • Noon Lunch(optional) in Viterbo’s cafeteria for all registered participants.
  • 1 p.m. Meet the Masterminds Panel. Engineers from prominent local businesses will share their expertise and experiences.
  • 2:30 p.m. Engineering Immersion Activity:Prospective students are invited to participate in a hands-on engineering project.
