VITERBO UNIVERSITY DEBUTS VIRTUAL CAMPUS TOUR
LA
CROSSE, Wis. – Prospective students and others will now be able to
“virtually visit” Viterbo University via a state-of-the-art virtual campus tour
featuring an interactive 3-D walking tour of campus, complete with 360 degree
panoramic views and a tour guide.
The Viterbo virtual campus tour debuted
this week and is available on the university website homepage and http://www3.viterbo.edu/#virtualtour. As the number and geographic range of Viterbo’s
student applicants continue to grow, the virtual tour is a valuable tool that
allows users to explore campus and learn other important information about the
university.
“Statistics show that 75 percent of
students will enroll at a college they have visited,” said Rob Forget, Viterbo
dean of admission. “Viterbo students are coming from farther and farther away,
so not all of our prospective students are able to physically visit our La
Crosse campus. The virtual tour provides an opportunity for them to visit our campus
from the comfort of their home computer, ultimately encouraging them to take
the next step in the enrollment process.”
The virtual tour is also perfect for
international students, busy adult students, and online students, Forget said.
Viterbo had a record number of applicants last year,
and the university enrolls an increasing number of students from across the
country. Forget said several factors attribute to this, including the Internet
and online platforms, outstanding academic programs, and the recruitment
efforts of the athletics programs.
