VITERBO UNIVERSITY AND WESTERN TECHNICAL COLLEGE ANNOUNCE NEW 2+2 LEGAL STUDIES/PARALEGAL TO BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ETHICS, CULTURE, AND SOCIETY PROGRAM ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University and Western Technical College have announced a new articulation agreement that will allow students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Legal Studies/Paralegal to transfer up to 61 credits to Viterbo University and earn a Bachelor of Science in Ethics, Culture, and Society (ECAS) in as little as two years.
“I am thrilled to announce this partnership with Western Technical College, which offers students enhanced educational opportunities and empowers them with a robust and comprehensive academic foundation to pursue their career goals,” said Michael Alfieri, dean of the Viterbo University College of Engineering, Letters, and Sciences.
Western Technical College’s legal studies/paralegal program, which is approved by the American Bar Association, covers all aspects of legal domains, including criminal, family, real estate, civil, and probate law. Graduates find careers in various sectors, including private practice, corporate legal departments, and government entities.
Viterbo’s ECAS program focuses on critical thinking, communication skills, and concern for collaborative, real-world problem solving that will help graduates address the increasingly complicated challenges of global society. Through interdisciplinary studies, students develop a robust package of transferable skills sought by employers in a variety of fields. Viterbo also offers a legal studies minor.
“We welcome the opportunity to continue our relationship with Viterbo University to provide a strong academic foundation, embedding a Legal Studies minor and establishing a seamless pathway for our students interested in pursuing a career in law,” said Wendie Witzke, director of the legal studies/paralegal program at Western Technical College. “This pathway supports our students' goals and fosters the next generation of legal professionals and marks a significant step forward in creating accessible, high-quality legal education pathways.”
