The China Town Hall “Local Connections, National Reflections” will be held from 5:45–8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 in the School of Nursing Building room 196.
The event is free and open to the public. Former president and Nobel Prize winner Jimmy Carter will present “Current Issues in U.S. and China Relations” in a national webcast beginning at 6 p.m. with a question and answer session to follow. At 7 p.m., an in-person presentation entitled “China’s Foreign Policy: The Application of Soft Power” will be given by Robert Daly of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and a diplomat and interpreter in China for 11 years.
The event is sponsored by the La Crosse Luoyang Friendship Association and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. China Town Hall is a national day of programming on China involving 70 cities throughout the U.S.
