VITERBO BRIGHT STAR SEASON CONTINUES WITH TONY™ AWARD-WINNING MUSICAL MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET JAN. 26
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Million Dollar Quartet, the Tony™ Award-winning musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for the first and only time on Dec. 4, 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis, will be performed at Viterbo University at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 in the Viterbo Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
This thrilling musical explodes off the stage as it brings that legendary recording session to life, featuring 21 timeless rock hits including Blue Suede Shoes, Fever, That’s All Right, Sixteen Tons, Great Balls of Fire, Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On, Who Do You Love?, Matchbox, Folsom Prison Blues, and Hound Dog.
Million Dollar Quartet is a “dazzling, raucous spectacle that sounds like a million bucks!” wrote a reviewer in New York Magazine.
The Broadway production of Million Dollar Quartet received Tony Award nominations in the categories of Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical. Levi Kreis won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical.
This performance is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Mix 96.1 FM WXYM is the media sponsor.
