Apryl Denny, English, and student Gabriella Huff will be honored at the YWCA Tribute to Outstanding Women Thursday, Nov. 5 in the La Crosse Center South Hall Ballroom.

Denny is being recognized in the category of education. In addition to teaching English, she also is the coordinator of the women’s studies program and has organized women’s studies events such as an annual film series and discussions on campus for more than 20 years. Denny has also presented at national and international conferences on British literature throughout her academic career.

Huff is being recognized in the category of Young Women of Tomorrow. Huff is a senior with a double major in sociology and psychology. She serves as a residence life staff member and peer advisor. Huff has participated in several trips to help underserved populations. She is currently applying to Peace Corps and hopes to attend graduate school following her service. She plans to pursue a helping profession associated with social justice issues facing underserved populations around the world.
