Turning Conflict into Opportunity: Effective Tools and Strategies Professional Development Workshop Feb. 3–4

Thursday, January 14, 2016

Conflict is a part of work life. Regardless of how hard people may work toward harmony with co-workers, there are times where conflict is simply unavoidable. It can result from well-intended constructive feedback to a co-worker, or a result of a performance review, or simply not seeing eye to eye on a team project.

Staff and administrative employees are encouraged to attend a professional development session with Derek Cortez, business, on how to turn conflict into moments of opportunity. In 2013, Cortez presented tools and techniques to help manage conflict. This interactive workshop will review those tools and techniques and provide examples to work through in groups in how to approach those difficult and stressful moments of conflict with confidence and composure.

Two identical sessions will be held in the Reinhart Center Board Room:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 8–10 a.m.
  • Thursday, Feb. 4 from 2:30–4:30 p.m.
