Four Day Left to Nominate a Student for the St. Catherine’s Medal: The St. Catherine's Medal honors students who represent the high ideals of a Catholic college education, including but not limited to Viterbo University's core values of contemplation, hospitality, integrity, stewardship, and service. Faculty, staff, administrators and students are encouraged to submit nominations via the online nomination form at http://www.viterbo.edu/stcatherinesmedal/. The deadline to nominate is this Friday, Feb. 13.

 

Apply for a VU Summer Research Fellowship: Student-faculty research or creative works teams from all disciplines are encouraged to submit a proposal for the paid eight-week summer program. Call for Abstracts: Viterbo University’s Philosophy and Pop Culture Undergraduate Conference: All undergraduate students are invited to participate in this upcoming conference to be held on the campus of Viterbo University on Saturday, April 25. To present your work related to the intersections of philosophy and pop culture, submit a proposal (limit of 500 words) to Robyn Gaier at rrgaier@viterbo.edu. The deadline for receipt of proposals is March 6. Questions regarding this conference may be directed to Robyn at rrgaier@viterbo.edu.

 

Outstanding Student Leader Award: Students, staff and faculty are invited to submit nominations for the Outstanding Student Leader Award. This award will be presented to three–five students at the Student Leadership Recognition Banquet. Written nominations must provide the name of the a senior student and evidence that she or he has: (a) exhibited continuous exemplary leadership, (b) served as well-respected role models, and (c) has persistently demonstrated a strong commitment to campus life, community service and/or charitable organizations.  Written nominations will be accepted by Denise Homstad, Student Development Administrative Assistant, until Friday, March 6.

 

Volunteer Opportunities: The La Crosse Children’s Museum is looking for Viterbo student volunteers for a wide variety of activities including coordinating weekly programs or assisting with special event/activities on the weekends. The Environmental Sustainability Club will hold its next meeting Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 5–6 p.m. in Reinhart Center room 130. La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat, and UW-L professor Chuck Lee will talk about the city's new transportation plans and how they will impact the environment.
