Everyone is invited to attend “A Thousand Paper Cuts: An Identities Project Panel Exploring Microaggressions” from 7–8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in the School of Nursing Building room 196.
A microaggression is a casual or common verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignity. Microaggressions can be intentional or unintentional, they all communicate negative prejudices. They can range from negative to derogatory to hostile, and can be targeted at any group, but particularly marginalized groups.
The panel members will talk about their experience being on the giving and receiving ends of microaggressions, share examples of common microaggressions you may not have thought of, and explore how everyone can do better. Treats will be provided.
