Holiday Break Updates
IIT was busy during the semester break with a number of projects. Here are a few of the noteworthy items:
- Network upgrade: The networking equipment that connects the server rooms to each other, the internet, and each floor of every building was upgraded to equipment that is capable of a 10GB connection. This upgrade will continue to be phased in as we put 10GB connections in servers and switches to facilitate a 10GB network backbone.
- Forty chemistry/biology laptops on carts received an overdue laptop hardware upgrade. These laptops have Windows 10 and the newest Office version
- Murphy Center conference room 515: A whiteboard and a projector with laptop connections were added to the space. Reservations for use can be made through the EMS system or by emailing scheduling@viterbo.edu.
- Nursing Simulation Center recording software, servers, and debrief rooms were upgraded to SimIQ, the newest software in that line.
- The copy and mail cernt started a search for a part-time services assistant using a temp agency.
- There were six new employee office/computer setups and various new adjunct instructors starting this spring.
- Windows 10 upgrades in Murphy Labs 304 and 314 and most podium machines.
