Amy Todd ’17 found her direction as an entrepreneur while she was advocating for her personal health and well-being. Her wellness-focused business, Redeeming Health, is located in downtown La Crosse. There, Todd offers the intravenous (IV) hydration vitamin infusions that she personally found helpful, along with seven other variations of IV infusions, intramuscular vitamin therapy injections, and weight loss consultation that is provided with one-on-one guidance.

IV therapy is no longer just for hospital patients. The services are growing in popularity in wellness settings such as Redeeming Health. Clients are treated with IV fluids containing mixtures of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that can be customized to meet their needs.

The IV provides maximum absorption, Todd said. People might find the treatment helpful for chronic illnesses, anxiety and depression, headaches and stress, or as an immunity boost. Athletes might feel they can reach peak performance faster. Cancer patients might find side effects from their treatments are lessened with high dose vitamin C.

Ancillary services at Work of Art Aesthetics, which Todd also owns, are housed under the same roof at 131 6th Street South. There, chemical peels, lip filler, Botox injections, and micro-needling services are offered. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) might encourage new hair growth with injections from one’s own plasma.

Todd earned her nursing degree from Viterbo University and worked at Winona Health in Winona, Minn., where she gained experience as an ICU nurse, on the medical surgical floor, and with new mothers and their infants. She went on to study for her master’s degree at Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo.

After she became a nurse practitioner, Todd found her place at the Neighborhood Family Clinic in La Crosse, where she still works part-time. “It is a good fit for me,” she explained. “I can practice in a more holistic way at the Neighborhood Clinic, providing more affordable care.”

Todd grew up in Rushford, Minn. just five blocks away from her fiancé, Tony Becker ’13. She is quick to point out that Becker has taught her a lot about becoming an effective entrepreneur. “Tony has several businesses,” Todd said. “He is a disc jockey, he auctioneers, he runs an online auction company, and he and his family own and operate Stumpy’s Concessions, a food truck business.” Becker also helps his family run their Christmas tree farm in Rushford.

He provides Todd with confidence and advice. “It is so important to stay motivated. “If you aren’t doing anything, you aren’t growing,” she said.

At Viterbo, Todd was a resident assistant in the Bonaventure and Rose dormitories. She has fond memories of playing basketball and intramural volleyball for fun.

“Viterbo is a good nursing school close to home,” she said. “Faculty emphasized that it is not just about a career, it’s about growing and becoming a better person. They incorporate the value of service.”

Her nursing pinning ceremony was a special moment that Todd cherishes. Her grandmother and mother attended, and her grandmother did her pinning. “My grandma was such an example of service and unconditional love.”

Todd shares how she felt called to start her business. “I feel this is the start of my journey,” she said. “God has more for me. I feel called to help people.”
