Resume Presentation and Services Available

Thursday, January 14, 2016

The presentation “Make Your Resume Work for You,” scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 4 from 4–5 p.m. in Murphy Center room 346, will provide students with information to prepare an employer-ready resume and adapt the document for career fairs, online applications, and interviews.

The beginning of the semester is the time for most May graduates to begin active job search. Upcoming career fairs offer students a valuable opportunity to connect with and impress potential employers. To ensure impressions are favorable, students will need quality resumes. Students planning to attend the Workforce Job and Internship Fair Tuesday, Feb. 16 and other local career fairs are encouraged to attend. Snacks will be served.

Other resume services will include resume reviews and resume drop-in sessions, scheduled in January, February, and March. Resume reviews will be held Tuesdays from 1:30–3 p.m. in Murphy Center Lobby. Students should bring an electronic version or hard copy of their resume for critique and suggestions for review. Resume drop-in sessions will be held Wednesdays from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the career services office in Murphy Center room 374. These sessions provide students with tips for starting, tailoring, or revising their resumes.
