Librarians are available to meet individually, or in small groups, to assist instructors or students with research strategies. Learning how to use library resources and time-saving programs like RefWorks and interlibrary loan are just some of the topics that can be covered.

While students, faculty, and staff are welcome to consult with reference librarians at any time in person, by telephone, by email, or chat, a research appointment may be scheduled ahead of time.

A research consultation is a one-on-one appointment with a librarian for in-depth research assistance often tailored to a specific project or paper. During a consultation, a librarian can help you formulate a search strategy, develop database searching skills, and broaden your search to include materials from other institutions and resources. Research consultations typically last between 30 and 60 minutes.

Why not make an appointment? Call or email us to arrange a time that fits your schedule. Contact Debra Alexander, reference coordinator, for further information. For immediate assistance, come to the Reference Desk, and we’ll help you get started.
