RELIVE THE MUSIC OF THE 1960S WITH THE BRITISH INVASION YEARS AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY FEB. 11

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Enjoy a nostalgic musical journey through the “far out” 1960s with The British Invasion Years at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center.

The British Invasion Years is three shows in one, beginning with classic songs by iconic British groups such as Herman’s Hermits, The Moody Blues, Dave Clark Five, and The Zombies. The American musical response follows, with memorable hits by artists such as The Monkees, The Turtles, The Mamas & The Papas, and Tommy James and The Shondells. This retrospective concludes with an extraordinary finale paying tribute to the four lads from Liverpool who started it all, The Beatles.

Bassist Bobby M. formed the band in 1995 along with guitarist Lee Scott Howard and drummer Jeff Alai. The group quickly gained popularity performing note-for-note Classic Rock tribute shows. Several years later, the trio decided to focus solely on the music they loved growing up and expanded the show to include 1960s Pop and Rock hits from both sides of the Atlantic. They added keyboardist/guitarist Jon Wolf in 2004.

This performance is part of Viterbo’s NexStar Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Eagle 102.7 FM is the media sponsor and Holiday Inn Express is the hotel sponsor.

Tickets are $38 for main floor, $34 for lower balcony, and $28 for upper balcony seating. For tickets, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or visit www.viterbo.edu/tickets.
