Celebrating Faculty Scholarship

Special thanks to co-coordinators Sr. Laura Nettles and Bill Bakalars and to the Faculty Development Committee for planning and supporting the Celebration of Faculty Scholarship Oct. 28. The scholarship of 26 faculty members was showcased in poster presentations and roundtable conversations. Kudos to the faculty who shared their scholarship projects and thanks to those who attended.

Higher Learning Commission Visit

In recent days, Viterbo hosted a consultant/evaluator from the Higher Learning Commission for a standard five-year review of institutions with multiple campus sites. Sites chosen by the Commission are Milwaukee Public Schools, Richland Center, West Des Moines, Cedar Falls, and Shawano. Numerous administrators and faculty were involved in writing the report and in meeting with the HLC representative. Noteworthy gratitude is extended to Naomi Stennes-Spidahl, Jerry Kember, Andrea Pelloquin, Jeannette Armstrong, Michael Gonzalez, Norene Bunt, Gretel Stock-Kupperman, and Sara Cook.

Core Values at Work

Viterbo’s core values of hospitality and service continue to be embodied daily by the actions of students and employees. A recent evaluation from a prospective student and family stated they have visited nine campuses and Viterbo clearly was their best experience, commenting specifically on the hospitality extended by all encountered during the campus tour. Thanks to the assemblies, colleges, departments, offices, and student organizations committed to representing Viterbo by ringing bells on Nov. 19 for the Salvation Army’s annual red kettle drive.
