An Anniversary Year
It seems like yesterday when the 125th Anniversary Committee announced its plans for events and activities to commemorate our founding by the FSPA in 1890. I wish to thank the committee and the university community for planning a wonderful schedule of celebrations and programs throughout the year.
A year’s ending offers the opportunity to wish our graduates best wishes and to say farewell to those not returning to the university. Special thanks for the faithful service of Pat Kerrigan, vice president for communications and marketing, who will retire after 30 years of service on June 30, and to Tom Neumann, associate professor of nursing and a very popular faculty member in the BSN completion program, who will retire after nine years at Viterbo.
I offer a belated message of gratitude to the great team of administrative professionals whose recognition was celebrated nationally on April 22 and I salute the compassionate and caring nursing professionals who will celebrate national Nurses’ Week Wednesday, May 6–Tuesday, May 12. Mother's Day approaches on Sunday, May 10 when we will pause to remember the unconditional love of mothers and grandmothers. Happy Mother's Day to our employees who will be honored this day.
On behalf of the Cabinet and Deans, we thank all of you for your faithful service and ethical leadership throughout the 2014–15 academic year. Enjoy a change of pace, time for contemplation and relaxation, and the satisfaction that you made a difference to our students this year.
Pax et Bonum,
Rick Artman
