Orientation Leaders, Move-in Crew, In-service Leadership
Many thanks to the student volunteers who served as Orientation Leaders, under the excellent leadership of Kasie Von Haden, director of campus activities and orientation. I also extend gratitude to the outstanding service of the residence life staff, to the alumni association for greeting our guests and providing water throughout the morning, to the athletics teams, student organizations, and individual students who lent their muscles and strong legs to help new students and their parents move in Aug. 28. Photos on the website from move-in day show a lot of happy faces, thanks to the outstanding cadre of volunteers.
Thanks also to academic advisors and various departments and individuals involved in orientation activities on Friday and throughout the weekend.
Kudos and thanks to all involved in leadership and service roles during in-service week, including the orientation to mission for new employees, the community dinner, the various workshops and break-out sessions on Wednesday, and college and school meetings throughout in-service week.
Rest in Peace
The university community mourns the passing of benefactor and friend Phil Quillin. Phil and his wife Barb (alumna) were recipients of the Pope John XXIII Award in 2014. Please keep the Quillin family in your prayers.
