Enrollment Census
At the university forum on Sept. 15 I outlined the enrollment report as of census date Sept. 11, 2015. Even though enrollments will continue throughout the semester for graduate and CAL programs, census is the snapshot we take for reporting purposes. Click for the summary census report. At the forum I also included slides with more detailed enrollment information and the power point presentation is available on the president’s webpage for your reference.
In response to a question at the forum about the components of the $42.5 million campaign, that information was distributed to faculty at the May in-service in the “Celebration of Gratitude” booklet. The breakdown is 51 percent capital projects, 19 percent scholarships, endowments, and research, and 30 percent estate gifts, grants and designated gifts. Thirty-eight million dollars has been invested in the physical plant between 2008 and 2015, but not all those funds came from campaign gifts.
Though we face challenges given this fall’s enrollment numbers, I wish to repeat my message of gratitude for your efforts to advance Viterbo’s mission and Franciscan values, and my confidence in our collective abilities to improve enrollments for spring and next fall. Let’s go forward!
Jewish Holy Days
On behalf of the cabinet and deans, I extend best wishes to those in our community who are observing the Jewish holy days and the celebration of Yom Kippur on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
