News to Celebrate

The university recently received notification that Viterbo was awarded a $2 million Title III Strengthening Institutions Program Grant covering a five-year period. More details will follow that outline the personnel, technology, and other resources this grant will provide to support student success. Viterbo’s proposal “Pathways to Student Success: An integrated, technology-enhanced approach to improving student retention and graduation rates” received a perfect score from the evaluation team. Join me in thanking the team which worked very hard and developed the proposal on a short time line: Sarah Bearbower, Beth Dolder-Zieke, Jane Eddy, Carolyn Hanoski, Tina Johns, Deena Murphy, Tim Schorr, Naomi Stennes-Spidahl, Gretel Stock-Kupperman, and Glena Temple.

A few days before receiving news of the Title III grant, Viterbo was informed by the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation that our proposal for Career Ready Internships was approved for a three-year grant totaling $441,000. Special thanks to the Viterbo team which prepared this proposal: Beth Dolder-Zieke, Tom Knothe, Denise Lorenz, and Deena Murphy.

Gifts and pledges from individuals for scholarships (endowed and annual) and programs in the past month have exceeded $150,000. Kudos to the advancement team.
