OUTSTANDING IRISH MUSICIANS CALADH NUA TO PERFORM AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY MARCH 3

LA CROSSE, Wis. –  The five extremely talented and versatile musicians and singers of the band Caladh Nua will bring their popular Irish music to the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre stage at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3.

Caladh Nua is a vibrant band rooted in the southern counties of Ireland that has captured the essential qualities of traditional Irish music balanced with an innovative contemporary flair. The band has performed around the world, including in cities such as Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen, Berlin, Mumbai, and Vancouver.

Caladh Nua has released two critically-acclaimed recordings and has performed on National Public Radio and the BBC. The members of the band play a wide selection of traditional Irish instruments, from banjo to fiddle, guitar to bodhran, and tin whistle to button accordion and perform a vast repertoire of haunting songs and evocative Irish tunes.

This performance is part of Viterbo’s Bright Star Season and is sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts. Mid-West Family Broadcasting is the media sponsor.
