Artaria QuartetThe 2014–15 Viterbo University One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series continues with Time Capsule II featuring the Artaria String Quartet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The Artaria String Quartet performs at Viterbo annually as part of the Chamber Music Series, and this year they will perform Arnold Schoenberg’s String Quartet in D major (1897), Giacomo Puccini’s I Crisantemi (1890), and Carl Nielsen’s String Quartet in F minor, Op. 5 (1890).

In commemoration of the 125th anniversary of Viterbo University (1890-2015), the 2014-15 One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series features music that was composed around 1889-1890.  Each concert in the series represents a “time capsule” of music to celebrate the historic anniversary.

Wisconsin Public Radio is the media sponsor for the performance. The series will continue Sunday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. as faculty members of the Viterbo University music department present Time Capsule III.
