A New Partnership

Viterbo University has collaborated with Great Rivers United Way, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and Western Technical College during the past year to create Ugetconnected, a new online volunteer center for the Coulee Region. The mission of Ugetconnected is to connect people to service opportunities that address community needs and create a deeper sense of community engagement. Users can respond to needs, become a fan of specific agencies, get their volunteer hours verified and print a volunteer resume.

The official ribbon cutting ceremony for Ugetconnected was held at the Tri-Campus Ugetconnected Volunteer Fair Sept. 22 at UW-La Crosse. Viterbo President Rick Artman, Western Technical College president Lee Rasch, UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow, and Great Rivers United Way’s director Mary Kay Wolf did the honors of cutting the ribbon. To date, there are 90 community agencies posting their volunteer and in-kind needs as well as events in Ugetconnected and there are over 1,800 users. The Viterbo community is encouraged to create an account at www.ugetconnected.org. Contact Denise Lorenz, Viterbo community engagement coordinator, for more information.
