“Micro-Aggressions: Are You Being Inclusive?” Topic for Next Professional Development Dec. 2

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Professional DevelopmentThe professional development committee invites all staff and administrators to join us on Tuesday, Dec. 2 as we learn about the message we send to others through brief and commonplace daily verbal indignities. These intentional and non-intentional indignities are micro-aggressions. Each participant will have an opportunity to examine his/her personal experience, raise awareness and understanding of how inclusive and exclusive behaviors and attitudes can impact individuals and environments, and dialog about how the collective “we” can make a difference in creating more inclusive living and working environments. The speaker is Beth Hartung, executive director with Options Clinic. She is a strong advocate regarding diversity and inclusion.

Two identical sessions are scheduled in the Reinhart Center Board Room from 8–10 a.m. or 2:30–4:30 p.m. Register online at http://www.viterbo.edu/administration_and_services/human_resources/Profe... by Monday, Dec. 1. Co-sponsored by the diversity committee.
