Master Class

Julliard School faculty member David Paul (pictured with Hunter Evenson) conducted a master class with Viterbo students in the Fine Arts Center March 15. Paul has directed plays and operas throughout the United States and abroad, including recent productions at Washington National Opera (An American Soldier world premiere), North Carolina Opera, Washington’s Shakespeare Theater Company, and the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. Other directing credits include the Juilliard School, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, Tel Aviv Summer Opera Festival, Ash Lawn Opera, Westminster Choir College, Columbia University, and other prestigious venues. Paul has served on the artistic staff for the Shakespeare Theatre Company and the Metropolitan Opera, where he continues to teach in the Lindemann Young Artist Program, and is a faculty member at the Juilliard School and Columbia University. He has coached and given master classes in Israel, Belgium, Germany, China, and Japan. He is a graduate of Columbia University and a native of Hamburg, Germany.
