Popular Library Services

Three of the most requested library services are streaming media, reserving items for classes, and reserving rooms in the library. To stream media, faculty can request videos (DVD or VHS) that Viterbo owns (either held by the library or a university department) to be streamed by the media center for use in their classes. Fill out a streaming request form. If the library holds the item, it will be sent for streaming. When complete, the requestor will receive an email with instructions on embedding the video into their Moodle course. Allow up to a week for streaming. For a list of streamed items, view Streaming Media-VU Library.

To place a chapter or a book on reserve, instructors complete a request form available at the main desk in the library. They can be faculty-owned items or library materials. Instructors may also complete a Fair Use Analysis checklist to evaluate items for copyright concerns. See the library’s Course Reserves page for more information.

Faculty, employees, and students can reserve rooms in the library for study or group work. To reserve rooms 110, 114, 139, and 201, sign up at the main desk for any day throughout the fall semester. To reserve rooms 103 (includes large screen TV and computer), 135 and 137, sign up for same day use only at the main desk. To reserve 103, 135 and 137 for future use, contact the main desk at ext. 3269 or use the campus Event Management System reservation system.
