Visit the library to check out a copy of this year's book selection for the La Crosse Reads program. With the support of a National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant, the La Crosse community is reading A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines, a novel centered on questions about life, death, and dignity in post-war Louisiana. Throughout the month of February, there will be numerous opportunities to attend events and join community conversations in order to explore the many, rich themes in the book.
