The nutrition and dietetics department and student Eliza Short, who was one of four students to receive a Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Outstanding Dietetics Student Award. Short and the other award recipients will be honored at the organization’s annual conference in Elkhart Lake in April.
The career services office and the alumni office, who co-sponsor the semi-annual Speed Mock Interview event. A record number of students have registered for the next installment, which will be Tuesday, March 24 in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. The participants will be interviewed by 24 local professionals, with networking to follow.
The education department and everyone involved with the 316 Reading Teacher Licensure program, which is a big hit with educators in the Sparta School District. Eighteen Sparta K–5 fifth grade teachers are participating in the program, which includes a focus on such topics such as children’s literature, inclusion of students with special needs, and emergent literature.
Jennifer Anderson-Meger, social work, and Mary Lu Gerke, nursing, who are helping with the Campaign to Change Direction. The national Campaign to Change Direction is about mental health, mental illness, and wellness. The regional launch is Monday, March 23 in La Crosse.
