Nursing student Jamie Betsinger had exhausted all her options and was facing the real possibility that she couldn’t afford to return to Viterbo University for the spring semester. Despite financial aid, she simply couldn’t pay the bill. She went to see the director of student billing, who told her that she qualified for the Guardian Angel Scholarship and that the remaining tuition balance for the fall and spring semester would be paid in full. “Needless to say, I burst into tears,” she said. “Without knowing anything about the struggles that my family and I have gone through, someone gave me the opportunity to continue to follow my dreams, and for that I am so thankful.”
