"Headshot!" in LaCroix Black Box Theatre Nov. 14–16

HeadshotViterbo University theatre and music theatre students will present Headshot!, an original theatre production created with award-winning theatre artists and Viterbo students, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 in the Fine Arts Center LaCroix Black Box Theatre.

Headshot! is the theatrical exploration of the desire to win and be chosen. This exciting, physical, and visual production takes place at a surrealistic audition, where without even knowing what the role might be, the challenge of getting it takes precedence and unleashes a bizarre race to the finish—with dubious results.

The play is created with students under the guidance of internationally renowned guest director Kari Margolis who came to Viterbo two weeks ago with an idea, a title, and a theme. The play is then written over the course of rehearsals, providing students with a unique educational experience, said Viterbo faculty member Rick Walters.

Margolis is artistic director of the international touring MB ADAPTORS theatre company and the creator of the acclaimed “Margolis Method” which is designed to organically synthesize the vital connections between the physical, intellectual, and intuitive, while merging muscular and vocal expression. She is joined by MB ADAPTORS Co-artistic Director Tony Brown, who along with being an actor is also a multimedia artist, and composer. Company member Jarod Hanson will be assistant directing.

Headshot! is very visual and musical in its storytelling, and will stir the imagination and emotions of the audience,” Walters said. “It will take the audience members on a theatrical journey and fascinating experience.”
