GET THE LED OUT: A CELEBRATION OF “THE MIGHTY ZEP” AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY FEB. 18
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Get The Led Out, a group of outstanding professional musicians passionate about the music of Led Zeppelin, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
The mission of Get The Led Out (GTLO) is to bring the studio recordings of Led Zeppelin to life on concert stage. The group is not an impersonator act, but rather a group of musicians who were fans first and love the music of “The Mighty Zep,” striving to do justice to one of the greatest bands in rock history. From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, the members of the Philadelphia-based GTLO are intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live, like you’ve never heard before.
Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, GTLO recreate the songs in all their depth and glory with the studio overdubs that Zeppelin themselves never performed. When you hear three guitars on the album...GTLO delivers three guitarists on stage. No wigs or fake English accents, GTLO brings what the audience wants: a high energy Zeppelin concert with an honest, heart-thumping intensity.
“Led Zeppelin are sort of the classical composers of the rock era,” said lead vocalist Paul Sinclair. “I believe 100 years from now they will be looked at as the Bach or Beethoven of our time. As cliché as it sounds, their music is timeless.”
GTLO consists of Sinclair, Paul Hammond, Tommy Zamp, Seth Chrisman, Derek Smith, and Eddie Kurek.
Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin,” GTLO offers a strong focus on the early years. They also touch on the deeper cuts and include a special “acoustic set” with Zep favorites such as Tangerine and Hey Hey What Can I Do.
This performance is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Note: Haze and strobe lights will be used during the show.
