EXHIBIT FEATURING THE WORKS OF ARTIST KATI TOIVANEN TO OPEN IN THE VITERBO UNIVERSITY GALLERY FEB. 1
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The works of guest artist Kati Toivanen will be featured in an exhibit entitled “Transmutations” opening with a reception at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1 in the Viterbo University Gallery.
Toivanen is the associate dean for undergraduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She previously served as the chair of the art and art history department at the university.
Through her art, Toivanen explores personal history and narrative through imagery, objects, and installations. Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally.
A native of Finland, Toivanen earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The exhibit will run until Friday, Feb 24. There is no admission fee to the gallery, which is located on the third floor of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. The gallery is open from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. when school is in session.
