JOE EHRMANN TO PRESENT “LIVING A LEGACY” AT VITERBO OCT. 28; CONDUCT “INSIDEOUT
COACHING” WORKSHOP OCT. 29

CROSSE, Wis. – Former first-round NFL draft pick and ten-year league
veteran Joe Ehrmann will present “Living a Legacy” at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 in
the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Ehrmann played defensive line for the
Baltimore Colts from 1973–80 and for the Detroit Lions from 1981–82. He is the
co-founder of Coach for America, an organization with the mission “to inform, inspire and
initiate individual, communal and societal change that will empower men and women
to be their very best—personally, professionally and relationally.”
At
6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Ehrmann has a physically intimidating presence.
However, he says that real strength isn’t about size, defeating your opponent,
or winning. He believes that athletes and their mentors face a much tougher
challenge—they have to look inside themselves and forge a meaningful moral
purpose, and then apply that greater understanding to helping others thrive.
Ehrmann
has been called “the most important coach in America” by Parade magazine.
“Joe
is a special person who has dedicated his life to helping young people,” said
Cal Ripken Jr., a member of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. “His
message is powerful and makes a true impact. It is a message we can all learn from.”

on campus, Ehrmann will also conduct a workshop entitled “InsideOut Coaching”
for business leaders, coaches, and educators from 8–11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 in
