Cherry Lommen, a champion of Viterbo University, children, and her community, died July 15 at the age of 74. She was a member of Viterbo’s Board of Advisors as well as devoting her energy and passion to organizations including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse, The Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minn., Chileda, the Family and Children’s Center, and the UW-La Crosse Women's Self-Sufficiency Board. In 2012, she and her husband, Dick, were honored with the Saint John XXIII Award for distinguished service, the university’s highest non-academic honor.
