CASA MAÑANA TO PRESENT BROADWAY HIT MUSICAL A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY JAN. 29

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Audiences of all ages will enjoy the Broadway hit and Tony Award® nominated musical A Year with Frog and Toad at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.

Based on the beloved books of Arnold Lobel, A Year with Frog and Toad follows two great friends—the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad—through four fun-filled seasons, meeting new friends and celebrating and rejoicing in the differences that make them unique and special. It is the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons.

Casa Mañana Theatre, located in Fort Worth, is bringing this touring production to La Crosse. Casa Mañana specializes in professional Broadway and children's theatre and arts education and strives to create, nurture, and advance live professional theatre.

A Year with Frog and Toad is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). Book and lyrics are by Willie Reale, music is by Robert Reale, and the production is based on the books by Arnold Lobel. It was originally presented on Broadway by Bob Boyett, Adrianne Lobel, Michael Gardner, Lawrence Horowitz, and Roy Furman. The world premiere was at The Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This performance is part of Viterbo’s Ronald McDonald Arts for Young America Family Series and is sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota. The performance is also sponsored in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
