LEADERSHIP” AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY MARCH 13
LA
CROSSE, Wis. – Business expert and renowned speaker James Hunter will
present “Servant Leadership” at Viterbo University from 8:30–10:30 a.m.
Thursday, March 13 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Hunter’s presentation is sponsored
by Dave and Barb Skogen and Festival Foods. It is free and open to the public
and is hosted by the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership.
Hunter
will discuss the practices of a servant
leader and the leadership movement that is transforming the world of business. Servant leadership is practiced in some of the world’s most
admired and successful organizations including Festival Foods, Johnson and
Johnson, PepsiCo, McDonald’s, Proctor and Gamble, Starbucks, Southwest Airlines, AFLAC, Nestlé, Marriott, and the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and
Marine Corps.
Servant Leadership is a values and
relationship-based approach to leadership that seeks to create a high trust
culture. It
involves identifying and meeting the legitimate needs (as opposed to wants)
of those entrusted to the care of the leader. It is a model for developing
leaders of character who lead with influence.
Hunter is the author of two
best-selling books, The Servant,
subtitled A Simple Story About the True Essence of Leadership and The
World’s Most Powerful Leadership Principle: How to Become a Servant Leader. His
books have been translated into 13 languages and have sold over three and a
half million copies worldwide. Hunter’s books are the texts used in many MBA
and other higher education curriculum around the world. Each year Hunter speaks
on servant leadership to over 100 audiences around the world. He has also
personally coached over 2,000 executives in developing the skills of servant
leadership.
