The Viterbo community is invited to attend the presentation “Affairs in Latin America: Traces of the Past and Realities of Today” by Marie des Jarlais, FSPA, from 12:25–2:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in Murphy Center room 500.

Sr. Marie des Jarlais is the director of Global Awareness Through Experience (GATE), a La Crosse nonprofit organization offering cultural immersion programs and pilgrimage opportunities in Latin America. Sister Marie, or la hermana Maria as she is known in Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Peru, visits Viterbo every fall to talk to Spanish, Latin American, and Latino/a classes about her work in Central America. She has been living in Mexico City for more than 20 years.
