Dan Baumgardt is in his 25th year as the lead scientist at the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He works to infuse the latest research and technology into the weather forecast process for the staff of 15 meteorologists watching over the Upper Mississippi Valley. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and grew up in Milwaukee.
