The course presents an interdisciplinary approach to exploring the history and contemporary challenges of global citizenship. A brief survey of past engagement with the concept provides historical context for modern consideration of such themes as migration, identity, and the relationship between personal liberty and communal responsibility. Analysis of varying sources will focus on the possibility that global citizenship may be the most promising model with which to tackle such ongoing complex problems as global pandemics, racial injustice, and climate change. Restricted to students in the bachelor completion programs.
