CELEBRATION AND PROGRAM FOR CERTIFICATE IN NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT GRADUATES AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY MAY 1

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The 16 graduates of the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Development (CNLD) program will discuss their capstone projects at a celebration in their honor from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 in the Viterbo University D.B. and Marge Reinhart Center Skogen Family Welcome Center.

A joint program of the La Crosse Community Foundation and the Viterbo University Center for Professional Learning, the CNLD program covers strategic planning, fundraising, volunteer management, ethics and values, board governance, and other aspects that prepare participants to be more effective leaders.

“The Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership Development prepares nonprofit professionals as they set out to provide critical services and build healthy communities within our region,” said Nicole Van Ert, director of the Center for Professional Learning at Viterbo University. “Our facilitators and mentors contribute their deep level of understanding and insight in today’s complex environment.”

Presented through real-world case studies, small group discussions, and interactive presentations, one morning a month over nine months, the program is designed for prospective or current board members of all experience levels, and church board members, staff, and administrators.

“It has been a privilege to get to know each participant and the important work they do to strengthen our communities,” said Alycia Larson, Viterbo Center for Professional Learning coordinator, who manages the CNLD program and has gotten to know the participants well. “We have a group of highly engaged professionals who are eager to foster partnerships for the greater good, every day. It’s been an honor to help develop each of them further as nonprofit leaders.”

Registration for the 2024–25 cohort is now open. For more information about the program, visit https://www.viterbo.edu/nonprofitcertificate.
