About the Archives

The Viterbo University Archives preserves university materials of historical value and serves as an educational resource for scholarly and administrative research. The Archives is located in room 132 of the library. Members of the Viterbo community and the public are welcome to visit by appointment.

The archives maintains both physical and digital collections. The institutional repository, known as the Viterbo Research Collection (VRC), is housed in the digital collections.

How to Search

Physical Collections: Either use the keyword search above or the library catalog's advanced search. In the advanced search, enter "b8:archives" in the keyword search field. This will limit results to the archives. You can then search by keyword, author, title, format, and date. Please note not all physical items are cataloged.

To view items, make note of the title and call number, then use the contact information below to schedule a time to visit. Items cannot leave the Archives. A scanner is available for patron use.

Digital Collections: You can search the entire collection using the search on the homepage in the upper-right. You can search specific collections by first opening that collection, than using the search in the upper-right.
